Bio

Stephanie Bencin is a Brooklyn based comedy writer.  She's recently written for the second season of TruTV's Hack My Life, and her work has been featured on Nick Mom, Huffington Post, and Gothamist. 

She currently teaches sketch writing at UCB, and is a regular contributor to the WFMU variety show Prove It All Night.

Stephanie Bencin is an archival producer by day and a comedy writer by night. She moved to New York to work in indie film, first interning at Killer Films followed by working at DuArt Labs before finding her footing in documentary production where she got her start with Lumiere Productions. She went onto work on numerous award-winning projects, including the ESPN 30 for 30 series, Radio Unnameable and the PBS series Superheroes: A Never-Ending Battle.

She currently teaches sketch comedy writing at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, where she has written for several house teams. Her work has been featured on the Huffington Post, Gothamist, and MTV. She has been an Official Artist at the New York Television Festival for her pilot scripts Sliding Dorks and Age Appropriate, which was also named a Semi-Finalist at the Nashville Film Festival. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and daughter.
